Where once every human, elf, and orran could wield magic, now only half of those born to Eorþe's six Great Families develop the ability. Outside the Families the percentage drops significantly. And worse, a spate of suspicious deaths have left only two men with the Affinity alive, both among the Families: Cymhen Grym and Cyril Cenric.
